Building Frankenstein **LED test fit**

Yes i am building Frankenstein, yes a lot of you will hate it. But i love it and when i take it to the track the drivers love it cause they realise it IS a street car...

Targa 4 (997), GT3 RS 997 front bumper (carbon grill), Techart side skirts, GT3 RS 997.2 rear bumper and LED taillights.

Here are the LED's test fitted, waiting on a Euro GT3 RS bumper, i will then to a center exhaust!

those tailights look great! Any plans for a rear wing?

Are you putting a GT3RS.2 rear bumper?

It will look weird without a spoiler but to each his own.

not to mention front rs bumper is designed to have counterweight from a rear wing at speed. otherwise front will be pressed too much down.

it is amazing when people start messing up with car`s downforces without even paying attention to what they do.

Very cool! Like your thinking! With the exception of the LED upgrade (for now at least), I too will be going the center exit route with a GT3 (Gen 1) rear bumper (ordered yesterday). Have you decided which route you're going to go with the center exhaust?

The car's going to look awesome in my opinion with, or without the tail.

Please keep us posted!

Here's a pic I saved a while back with a NB without the rear wing, and it looks absolutely stunning IMHO:

Let me qualify by saying that I've not tracked a car like this without the rear wing, so the previous comments are obviously good to research and consider.

why do the lights not match up? If they are both from the same model shouldnt that gap not be there?

This is a STREET CAR, not a track car. Do you really think the downforce is an issue driving on city streets? If i ever get her in a wind tunnel i will let you know...

BTW the car is AWD so traction to the rear wheels, reason why you would need the wing, is not an issue. But thanks for you concern.

Yeah the Aero will be a little out of balance on your car. If you never go over 35 mph then you should not ever encounter any weird handling issues. Of course, on the highway, on ramps, etc......

Porsche actually has warnings about not combining the GT3 front without the rear wing but your right, on a street car that does not spend a lot of time at high speed, you will probably never encounter an issue.

Yeah i am honest here. I am doing these mods purely for aesthetic reasons. I may track it but have no immediate plans too. Let's be honest under 5% of all Porsches sold ever see a track...

What's your plan of attack on the center exhaust conversion?

mods could look cool together but you are making some stupid mistakes and should listen to the people quoted below, it is true about downforce even if it is a street car, you are going over a certain mph and downforce could be affected, 2 or 4 wheel drive doesnt matter

Funny I didn't even post pictures of the front and I am getting slack already!

I will simply reroute the tips to the center for the exhaust, I presently have stock exhaust with a Gundo Hack.

When I had only the GT3 front bumper the car was feeling weird above 70mph. But I doubt you will notice it much in lower speeds. When I added the wing the car felt much more stable.

I am not sure how the car will look with a GT3 front bumper and rear bumper but no wing...

Ballsey move and you stirred up a Hornets nest to boot!

I will reserve judgement until I see the completed project.
