Thanks guys --
We'll see . It will take them a few days to see if their buyer is in fact going to pick up the car but it also gives me a chance to think it through . They have the car but they didn't sell it today.

You getting weak too ?
I will say this -the entire drive to see the car I rationalized how hard it was to trade in the PDK car . It really is a beautiful car . Today was sunny and the white was refreshing and the terracotta looks best in the bright sun . They loved the FVD exhaust and coil overs on my car too.
It took just a brief moment alone with the RS to see what type of effort went into the car .Really amazing car.

Not me. I know plenty of people with GT3s or GT3 RS. These are cars for track use. I have no time to track, at least as much as those cars should, therefore I see no point in owning one. I drive my car a lot but mostly on the open road. There are few roads with the surface qualities an RS requires. These are not cars to drive in traffic or crowded freeways.
A 997.2 S, and one with PDK in particular, is a fun car to drive well on the open road, especially the twisty bits I prefer. When I bought the S I considered a GT3 but I saw advantages on the S. The S is not a lesser car than a GT3 - actually the 997.2S PDK is faster on the track than a 997.1 GT3.

I happen to agree with you but thse cars aren't logical purchases.
The way average drivers navigate through the streets it woild be wise just to buy a small sedan with some safety features and decent gas mileage-- if one wanted to be rational .
Thse purchases are emotional and visceral. Even track driving is a high priced sport . It's not exactly like buying a pair of running shoes and going jogging . It's not as healthy either . The cost of the car, the insurance, the training, the maintenance, the risks of accident and injury --for what --to drive around in a circle going nowhere ? and burning gasoline to do it? Yet it's a sport .
If one really want to think rational would he even buy a 997s? Much less an RS .
So why not go all the way ? Why not get the car which raises the bar to what this vehicle can offer ?
The Turbo will give the fastest and the street comfort.
The RS will give the preciseness and agility.
Together .. it is the epitome of driving .. even if one picks and chooses his way to enjoy them. To me that's driving bliss.
