Update -My 997S to Gt3 adventure

I decided to go today and look at the Gt3 RS . There were two cars available. The first had sport adaptive seats which i felt are not the right seats for the car . it also did not have full leather . I also do not like the gray color . Even though i like gray on other cars I just feel if one is going to buy this type of car EVERYTHING had to be right.

The other car also was gray , was a 2010 model, had ceramics (don't want them). I was not happy with the options or color or model year.

There was a third car marked "sold". It was white . It had everything I would want. They opened it up and we started it up. WOW!!!!! The RS is greatly improved from the regular Gt3 . What a car!!!!!!!! It really might be sold yet it was there so they have their work ahead to be sure that the buyer is going to pick it up. If not .. it may be mine .. given the pricing works out.

They appraised my car and are willing to give me 75K in trade which is exacly what I requested. We are both spot on.

If the car is available .. and they knock a few bucks off to my liking .. I am buying it.

Larry, if you do buy the car congrats in advance.

So far I have never asked anything of you, but if you purchase the car please track it at least once!

Not yet . That usually is the final hurdle before closing the deal --especially with cars like a new Turbo or RS (high priced where miles matter) -- and even moreso if the car is sold (respect to the new owner).

The test drive of course can be a dealbreaker .. but so can it being sold , or if we can't nail down price.

Nothing is guaranteed until the papers are signed and the car drives off the lot. The same goes for them . I'm often surprised why a dealership will let a car sit "sold" for a week . In my opinion .. if a car is in fact sold .. the buyer needs to pick it up ASAP.

Discount on an RS? Sorry but it'll never happen, at least not in the immediate future. They're still to hot.
Was this Champion, Braman or the Collection (of crooks)?
There was a white/red RS in The Champion showroom but was sold and 2 gray/red ones but also sold.
Personally I'm over the gray/red scheme already (too many).
If you're gonna do it and can spec one, go unique and order a color off rountine schemes. Stand out.
There was a .2 RS (white/gold) at Homestead yesterday. The RS sounds good in stock but for me still tame.

Just read your additional post. Do you believe you should be allowed to test drive a car that's been sold? If not it would be a deal breaker?

Good luck. Hope you find one.

I am really excited and still don't even though if i am getting the car . Just seeing it, looking at it, having a number attatched to my car's value, and the actual car in front of me .. I feel like no matter what .. it was a fun day.

Nothing is sold .. until it drives off the lot and no price is definite until a check is written.
I also don't like the gray red .
All three dealerships have been extremely professional and fair to me . I have positive impressions of all of them.

I don't know if i will have a car .
I had a fun day and no car yet and i still am very happy with the two Porsches I have .

I don't see any way to lose here sitting in my shoes.

I do NOt believe one should drive a car that has been sold . I would not even think of asking to drive it.

I said a test drive can be a dealbreaker but it's the LAST thing I do on cars of this caliber.
BUT --if it's not sold .. I can drive it AFTER the numbers are worked out before signing the deal.

I can wait .

I'm sure it was fun

I was at Sebring today, trying to break my best lap of yesterday. It was a blast! Just seeing what you and your car can do is so exciting! I'll post a video later...
