I honestly believe we have arrived at this point due to no fault of anyone. TPC thought they had completed the R&D on this kit and sold it to me in good faith. When they ran into an issue they did put forth an effort to resolve it. Was it as focused as it could be? - maybe not. I would have pulled the plug (and many times came close) but we always seemed to be in a state of, "Ahaa - I think we just found the issue - give me one more week". I can't tell you how many times we did that (6-8 at least). When I did get to the point of, "just pull the d##n thing off" TPC did work out an arrangement with me to use the car as a test horse for a s/w tune. That bought them an additional 3 weeks and they got the s/w to where it is now. Obviously they still have a little ways to go.
In terms of customer support I did finally come to realize that TPC Racing is quite focused on the competitive side of the industry. I was pushed aside during the process many times by other in-house projects (their new GT2 being first among them). There is of course an advantage to that as well: When you bring your car to TPC you really are bringing it to a race shop - that's what they do, that's what gets them excited. The products that they deliver are designed and built with a ton of first-hand experience behind them. The pitfall is that racing and building cars that go fast will often take priority over your commodity 997 coming in for a kit install. Is it worth the pain and effort - I'm not sure yet... others (at least two that I know of that spent 3 months+ in the shop getting one of these) think so.
Josh - If you can get Mike to focus (honestly, no BS, focus) on MY car for a few days I'm sure he'd lick it. Now make it SO!

Wow. You are being very nice about this. I doubt I would have been this patient and understanding. I wouldn't be cool with them not concentrating on my car until the job was done and done correctly. Hope this ends up being free for you. Even then I'm not sure it's worth it.
Good luck!

At the risk of significant weight gain, read it again. If you look between the lines the message is pretty clear:
1. The kit requires some additional development in the s/w.
2. Don't expect top priority handling if something goes wrong.
I'm still trying to maintain a balanced outlook - which is getting tougher every day.

Running a small business is not easy. Running into an unexpected challenge is not unusual bringing a new product to market. As painful as it is, u need to balance internal resources to keep the foundation elements of your business functioning and bringing in cash flow etc. If you drop everything to solve one challenge, the business may not survive longer term. Anyway, I know this is business 101, but I bring it up just to balance some opinion of the situation that is emerging. Here's hoping everyone is happy in the end, and expect there will be a positive outcome. FYI I've never dealt with tpc but they seem pretty upfront on communication here so seem like quality people/business. Would love to install their charger on my car someday.

Good / Hopeful News...
I did just get off the horn with Mike.
He had some good / hopeful news. He has resolved the s/w tuning issues to his satisfaction. The way it was explained to me is that a "Global Variable" in the s/w was set incorrectly which caused the car to run rich/backfire. Again related to the older processor used in the MY05 ECU. He also set some readiness codes so that the other sensors required to pass a VA emissions inspection report out.
He's now got to replace some clutch parts (unrelated to this install) and I'm HOPEFUL to get the car back in a day or two!

I am hopeful that YOU will be as happy as Marathonbob is with his TPC turbo and after your test drive that you come back "Smiling like a Joker", !
