Thanks. I plan on putting a lot of miles on it. Should log about 200 this weekend.

I have an 05 997S with a Tiptronic Tranny. I believe TPC makes the Turbo Conv Kit for it. My concern is if the 05 issues are resolved. I currently have 58,000 miles on it. Is that risky?

I know they have been installing them successfully on the Caymans, but I would say that's a different category.

How would I know if I have the older version ECU? I don't want to have the same problems that the OP had.

I don't believe anyone has commented on the cost to install the kit either by TPC or their own mechanic.

I think the shops labor to install is 2-3k. There was no one recommended by TPC within 2 hrs of me so I just did mine. I've put about 500 miles on since the install and am very happy with it.
Just call Tom Chan at TPC, he can tell you if the 05 is still a problem with the ecu.

The turbo kit will be great on your 2005 997S! 58,000 miles is not high mileage when going for a turbo kit. We have done installs on cars with 100,000 miles and above.

This thread goes back to one of our first turbo kits, and the problems have been resolved.

Thanks for the info, Bradmd. I have actually emailed Tom and waiting his response. But I see TPC responded that all the kinks have been resolved. I hope so. I plan to do this kit this year.

TPC,

Any recommended shops in the New Orleans area?

As many have said in the past: Leave well enough alone, you want a turbo--save up some money and buy a factory turbo car. Good luck, bummer you had to go through all of this.

Yes. Would like to hear from TPC. I'm shopping for a turbo while further researching FI for my car.
