I had the same problem with my Samsung galaxy and this is what i did.

I transferred all the contacts to my sim card and on the PCM, make sure only the SIM is selected (it doesn't work if sim and phone are selected)

then select transfer phonebook.

you should have all you contacts there.
To be clear, you aren't suggesting physically inserting the sim card into the PCM unit right.

that's right, you DO NOT insert the sim card into the PCM unit....on the options under phonebook, you can select where to transfer from

I have an iPhone 3GS & work perfectly with my 2009 C2S. Took almost no time to set up. No problems at all.

Transferring the phone book to the sim can be done through either settings in phone book or one by one by copying the contact you want to sim

iPhone 4S works fine in my '09 997.2. I also plug the iPod adapter into the phone (I have an extension cable for it) so I can control music playback via PCM. I only have about 800 contacts but they all download fine. Had several 1000 and had to prune it back as it was causing sync issues on my BMW.
