Normal for C2S to be sluggish before warmed up?

When I first crank up and drive my '06 C2S, the car feels and sounds sluggish at take-off in 1st gear (manual trans). I feel like I'm having to give it more gas to keep it from stalling. Once in motion it runs great. And after the car is hot this doesn't occur. Is this normal? May just be me - my first Porsche coming from a late-model vette with lots of low-end torque. How long should the car need to 'warm up'?

The car takes a while to warm up so it would most likely be sluggish if you pushed it before the fluids are up to temp. I usually wait until my oil is up to temp (as well as the coolant, which reaches temp first) before pushing the car beyond 3000 rpm

Yeah when you first get the car moving it feels just like that. It's perfectly normal. The engine doesn't like to be cold, it likes to be thrashed

The Vette needs to be warmed too. All cars do.

All cars drive somewhat sluggish upon warm up . One of the best engine health longevity tip that I can think of is to always warm the car up properly.

Funny, I'm that way too. When I go cycling, I'm real sluggish 'til I warm up these 55 year old muscles. But then, 100 miles in 5 hours, 52 minutes (not too bad).

I never drive my car over 3500 rpm until the oil temp is at least 175ş and until i have warmed the tranny but driving a few miles and shifting easy.

Once the oil temp is up to 175, then have some fun!

I am going to have to go against the crowd here. I don't drive it hard until warm up...but I don't get any feeling that it hesitant to go. You do get more of a "blurbling" exhaust note for about 30 seconds...but that is about it. If you ignored the gauges, I don't think you would perceive much of a performance difference.

I wouldn't freak out over it...but I would keep an eye out for some type of an issue...

It could just be that I'm not letting the car idle/warm up long enough before driving? It's not a daily driver. And I do go easy on it on the street until fully warmed up. That said, how hot should the oil temp get before hitting the street? I've heard excessive idling isn't good either?

I wouldn't wait for an oil temperature before driving. It takes a few minutes before the oil temp starts to move, probably more like 7-10 before it is stable. I would just start it up and keep RPMs below like 4K until you get to like 200 degrees on the oil.

That is just standard issue how to drive the car. Based on your initial comment it sounds like the car isn't driving well in that warm up period. If that is the case...I would have someone take a look at it as that is not normal based on my experience. I start it up...drive off...no performance issues.
