Wow .Some article.
an object on the road is like a projectile . It's really awful. Just drive the other one for a while! Cheers, John |
I am looking at it more . I am not sure how much of that gash is through the clear coat . At least both the scratch and the large dent are on the same panel (the door) so if it does have to be painted it's only one panel.
Can I replace an entire door ? Is that even worth it ? |
Sorry to hear
major bummer. I think about that stuff happening all time time on the road. Like it or not, the P's low profile makes us more prone to stuff like that. Hope everything turns out ok..

Up here in Seattle, we have lots of debris on the roads. Especially going through Tacoma you'd better be carful!!

Larry,
Don't worry, looks like an easy repair. 3 years ago I was driving along in my Cayenne S. A big piece of cardboard came flying at me from an overloaded garbage truck in the opposite lane......before I knew it, I'm all covered in broken glasses. |
Sorry to hear that. I know how you feel. I got flying object hit the sunroof on my car twice!
|
Larry: Sorry to hear that. It's really unfortunate. :(
|
ugh!!!
I feel your pain and agree with your choice of getting it fixed at the shop you choose. No way you need a new door, it is an easy repar, you'll never know, the difference........................Flying debris is a serious issue, I reasd a story a few years back where a Hollywood producer was driving on the Long Island Expressway, in the summer, to the Hamptons and got impaled through the head by a pipe that fell off a truck in front of him- a one in a million freak accident.
Your DING could have been much worse, you'll eat your deductible but repair is simple and should take a few days, depending how busy shop is. :) |
Sorry to see this. It would bum anyone out. You will feel 100 times better once it is fixed and out of sight.
Ask your dealer who does the best work in the area and go there. |
Larry...sorry to hear about your pain.
I'm glad you and your GF are safe an uninjured. bob |
Sorry to see that Larry, most importantly u and ur girl were not injured. I'm sure you'll get that fixed up and this discouraging incident will be behind u.
