Dents can be fixed. Could have been a LOT worse:

I am looking at it more . I am not sure how much of that gash is through the clear coat . At least both the scratch and the large dent are on the same panel (the door) so if it does have to be painted it's only one panel.
Can I replace an entire door ?
Is that even worth it ?

Sorry to hear
major bummer. I think about that stuff happening all time time on the road. Like it or not, the P's low profile makes us more prone to stuff like that. Hope everything turns out ok..

Larry,
Don't worry, looks like an easy repair.
3 years ago I was driving along in my Cayenne S. A big piece of cardboard came flying at me from an overloaded garbage truck in the opposite lane......before I knew it, I'm all covered in broken glasses.

ugh!!!
I feel your pain and agree with your choice of getting it fixed at the shop you choose. No way you need a new door, it is an easy repar, you'll never know, the difference........................Flying debris is a serious issue, I reasd a story a few years back where a Hollywood producer was driving on the Long Island Expressway, in the summer, to the Hamptons and got impaled through the head by a pipe that fell off a truck in front of him- a one in a million freak accident.
Your DING could have been much worse, you'll eat your deductible but repair is simple and should take a few days, depending how busy shop is.

Highway debris is very dangerous. Fatal for a colleague...

South Florida highways are littered with crap (especially I-95). They need to:
- ban open bed pickup trucks that drive around like an open garbage can with no concern for or understanding of aerodynamics
- Bring back REAL vehicle safety inspection for cars older than 5-7 years (not that rediculous emissions inspection that use to be required even if your car was brand new)
- Start using the police that waste their time setting speed traps for commuters to ticket those with unsafe loads
