Amazing....only 1.2 seonds slower...

However this is the perfect example of how on the track HP does not make up for handling and why I always preach that you need to do suspension mods before HP mods.

aroby is infamous around these parts
When I went the the driving experience, Doc Bundy took 3 of us around the track in a Cayenne Turbo faster than any of us could drive a 911. It was astonishingly fast and handled superbly.

As an owner of a Touareg which shares the platform with the Cayenne, I am well aware how well they handle, but the acceleration from the TT is amazing. Porsche produces some really fast non sports cars (Cayenne, Panamera)

Every review I have ever read says the Tour-egg does NOT handle like a Cayenne despite sharing some parts in common.

Which had echoed my own experience of driving many Touaregs and Cayennes and finally deciding on the Cayenne for its superior handling.

My understanding is that with some of the Cayenne parts and programming you can get a Tour-egg to handle much better, but still different than the Pepper.

I have no doubt that the Cayenne handles better then a Touareg, but the Touareg does handle better then most of the other SUV's, trucks, crossovers available. A common mod on the Touareg is a installing Cayenne Swaybars, and others have installed CO's on there's to improve handling. Mine is 100% stock, except for the mods listed in my sig equipped with steal shocks (not the air suspension), and although is no where near as much fun to drive as my C2S, it is more fun to drive then a number of other vehicles that I have owned in the past and present.

I think the Tour-eggs are great and do handle very well. I was simply pointing out that there was a difference.

Love the V10 TDI

I tried a V10 out last year with the idea that I might trade my V8 in on it, and it was amazing. The asking price was my V8 (with more options and lower milage) for a V10 plus $30K. I thought that the $30K would be better spent on a 997C2S upgrade to a GT3.

Ed,

After our last Porsche drive, I concluded that either your 997S is much faster than other 997S, or your driving skill level is very high. I was surprise at your ability to run right along my RS...and I was pushing it...you don't need to trade for a GT3, keep the current C2S.

And no, I'm not getting the new CTT. I don't want my wife to kill me yet.
