I am a little confused. If I have a 997.1 and I already have the PCM with Navigation, if I want to add the Ipod and BT I have to shell out about $800 for the Dension 500 GTWY and the BT module. When I am all done I will have the Ipod and BT functionality with an HU that sucks, Navigation that sucks and BT that is sketchy at best.

If I parlay my $800 and buy an AVIC z110BT and replace my HU I will have Ipod and BT without any additional modules or cost for maybe another $500-$600. Potentially I could add another amp in this price and end up with a system that is far superior to the Bose Premium with an awesome HU with great NAV.........

Correct me if I am wrong or missing anything!

 

Pretty much. AND you can sell your crappy stock PCM and NAV module for at least a grand to get some money back. I have the Pioneer AVIC Z110BT and a 4 channel Pioneer amp. It's so much better than the stock system, the voice control is spot on and the nav, BT and ipod are life savers. The amplifer makes the Bose speakers sound so much more powerful and better all around. I sold the stock PCM and got about half of the cost back in my pocket. As you can tell, i'm a happy camper.
