What is your other car?

My wife drives the 2009 Audi S5 which is an awesome GT car and great for rode trips as it is completely decked out. We also have a 2010 F350 duly for hauling our horses ( btw the F350 and my wife's three horse trailer cost much more than my p-car... what we do for love). My DD is an Audi A4 (2001) and my off road rock crawler is a 1978 fj40 Tyota landcruiser with a 4" SUA lift with 1.5" shackle lift and power steering conversion.

I share the DD honors between my 997S Cab and my 2005 Prius (with CA HOV lane stickers). Clearly a bit schizo on the criteria there. My wife's DD is a Lexus SC430.
We own a 2000 Lexus LX470 for carrying 'stuff' - pets, kids (and their friends when they were younger, now to and from college), furniture. It surely is not an exciting drive, but I don't believe any SUV is and I don't expect it. I just load it up and enjoy the slow cruise. The LX has 55K miles on it, so I expect another 7-10 years before I get rid of it. When I do, the Merc R-series, in diesel or hybrid would be interesting. Or some mini-van (they have become very sophisticated) might do the trick.
For such an occasional use vehicle, I believe in buying something that is an excellent long-distance cruiser and can carry plenty of people and things. Appearance, performance, excitement are not relevant criteria. For that, we all have our P-cars.

My wife drives an 06 Volvo XC90 that we picked up for $9k U.S. due to desperate car selling market in Dubai. Steal of a deal I'll tell you!
I drive an 04 Holden Commodore V8 4-door family car with the old Corvette LS-1 I believe. Its basically the Australian V8 Supercar you see flying around tracks in Australia. Smooth, fast, and cheap cheap to maintain. I'm currently putting on 330 miles every two days driving back and forth from Dubai to Abu Dhabi.

My current daily drive is the 997.2 C2. It's my every-thing car. It does the commute to the office, meetings 150 miles away and the grocery getting. Will fit a few chicks in the back if need be, but stuff-all practicality in doing anything with them back there.
The other half drives the .:R32 as the daily, as it was my old daily. Now it's being used for short trips when I can't be arsed to get the 911 out of the garage. We're now looking at trading the R32 for a 2010 Cayenne Diesel...
I tried the Range Rover Sport in diesel and it was horrible. Great car, nice build, great equipment package... but the diesel is truly asthmatic and strained. Diesel motor on the Cayenne is a beaut, belting out at any command of the right foot with next to no lag.

nothing fancy in our family - '99 lexus es300 with 160K miles - primary beater, wife`s '07 accord lx (she categorically did not want anything expensive and i did not insist neither), third car was getting recycled quite often in last 5 years and current p-car has great chances to stick for much longer than anything previous.
great chances to replace es300 with lx or rx or somethng similar but most likely it will be 3yr old lx lexus.

We haul the family around in either the MB R500 (which is up for sale) or my wife's Lexus RX350. The R is a great family car with a real third row. Two adults can fit nicely in the 3rd row. My daily is a Cooper S and it's been a blast to drive compared to my previous dailys....avalon,prius and frontier truck.
+1
We have an R500 and it is a fantastic family hauler, especially for long trips.
