It would suck if 996 had to pay $996.

It used to be this high back in the early 90's. Then it was lowered when Arnold came into office, only to be brought back up last year.

Yes it sucks. I'd move outta here if I could.

The fees here really are rediculous.

They're thieves and I think they don't even care.

Do you have to pay that annually? Here in IL, the road tax is about $60 (I have vanity plates so it is about $110).

Here in the great state of Nevada, I paid $1,889 to register my '10 C2S Cab.

We have a lot of "California residents" living here in Nevada.

I almost got into a fight with one of my "California" neighbors when I pointed out that all he was doing with his CA plate was advertising that he was a thief.

I thought that was horrible, but maybe I was wrong....

The annual fees in California reduce each year based on some depreciation formula.

The legislators in this state are all incompetent, plus the voters are just as bad for voting in stupid initiatives over the years that add to the incompetence.

Not only are the registration fees exorbitant, but the state collects sales tax on every sale of a vehicle at full selling price (not net of trade-in). Imagine what kind of revenues that generates for a state that is $19 billion in the hole nonetheless.

That stable of yours much allow you to contribute lots of money to the state. Those top 3 cars are a nice group to choose from.

In Florida it's cheap too . I still love So Cal though . I probably wouldn't have as many cars and would re evaluate modding them (with 91 octane) .

It's amazing that it's such a beautiful car region yet it's not particularly car friendly .. unless one buys a Prius .. which BTW are plentiful .
