Exhaust option for Gen 2 C2S with PSE
I had the X51 kit fitted to my 2009 C2S in April and it feel a fair bit more than the 23hp gain on paper. My intention is to create a 2+2 Gt3 and I had been looking around for various option just to get me closer to the Gen 2 GT3 435 bhp mark.
Option one-x-shaped pipe
1. Fabspeed 15 HP+ Gain
2. Cargraphic Unknown
3. Fvd 5 HP gain
4. Awe hp loss
5. Speedart 5hp gain
Option two Cross over pipe
1. Awe 5 hp gain
2. Sharkwerk 12 hp gain
Option three 200cell sports cat + headers
1. Cargraphic R system 20hp gain
2. Fvd 20hp gain
I favour the sports cat and header option but I am worry that it might trigger the CEL all the time.
If I look for value for money, I will go for the x-pipe or cross over pipe option but I am a bit concern the wide variation in claims---from power loss to gaining more than 5%!!!
I never mod a Porsche to gain bhp before so I am not sure which aftermarket option should I go for!
Please help!

Just a note; there are both merging and non-merging X-pipes avaliable.
I'd like to mention an alternative made by Akrapovic. Their 997.2 system comes in two versions where one uses stock center muffler and the other a X-pipe, merging design. Akrapovic are usually made in Titanium, but these systems are said to be (or already are) avaliable in steel as well. Cheaper but heavier.
stock center muffler:

X-pipe:

By looking at the attached dyno graphs from their website, an interesting observation can be made about the effect of the X-pipe (wich is the only difference between the two systems).
Quite an increase in mid range power/tourqe!
The weight difference between the two systems gives how much lighter their X-pipe is vs stock, 10.8 lbs!
A mix with Akrapovic titanium X-pipe and Tubi mufflers would be a really lightweight option! Anyone dare to try?

Thanks for the reply. I agreed the only difference between the two is the removal of the primary silencer and replace with a x pipe!
I would love to buy this system (More bhp with lighter rear end) but in uk this full titanium system cost even more than the X51 option! As I want to keep my PSE, I don't think I will go for this!
Looks like AWE is the only one who cannot release any extra ponies with their x-pipe. Wonder why others can!
Any gen 2 owners here who had replace their primary muffler???

Ok,
I was told the Akrapovic X-pipe alone is around 600 euros. The potential difference it makes can bee seen in the graphs.

Thanks Mac300
Your car specs sounds good and looks very nice!
I suspect a a maximum increase of 5Ib Ft torque increase will make very little difference to the bottom end!

600euro sounds very reasonable for a titanium pipe that save weight and add a few hp. But we don't know whether the diameter of the pipe will fit the original Cat and muffler. I'll email them to find out! Thanks!

Which primary pipe have you tried???

Tubi Primary Muffler delete ( X-pipe ) This will mate up perfectly with your PSE mufflers and still retain your PSE functionality. Pm me for details

The exhaust gases travel from the header into the "primary muffler" and then directed into the "secondary " or side mufflers and out the exhaust tips. The PSE controls the flow of exhaust gas within the secondary / side mufflers. By bypassing the center / primary muffler section you will pick up some power and also make the sounds characteristics much more desirable =)
