PZero N2's
Unless someone talks me out of it I am going in on Monday to replace worn out PS2's with the new PZero N2's. Been seeing good reviews and for about $350 less I thought I'd give 'em a try.
My old 996 originally had PZero's. The rears only lasted about 7000 mi. Switched to PS2's and got 10,000 on rears and felt they handled better.
On the 997S I got 12,000 on the rear PS2's, Now at 24,000 and need all 4. I don't track the car but drive it hard. I'll report back after a couple thousand miles.

I'll be very interested as to your opinions on the pzeros. I previously had PS2s then switched to RE-11s (thread on this) and was very unhappy...and still in the process of working everything out. I've heard very good things about the pzeros, but also had heard similar good things about the RE-11s. Needless to say, I'm no a little gun-shy around anything other than the PS2s, which I very much enjoyed. Definitely keep us posted on your findings.

i have the pirellis pzeros that came stock...great tire..right there with ps2. Havent decided if i will replace with pzero or switch to ps2...need to see how many miles i get first. 5k and going strong..but i will switch to 305s in the rear. more rubber = better traction tight? plus it looks better

My 2006 2S came with the Pirelli P-zeroes. Replaced the rears once & then switched to the Michelin PS2's with a 305 back, including replacing the rears once. Just had P-zero N2's put on, with the significantly lower price being a factor. I don't notice much difference between any of them.
If you get the wrong tire, don't worry, they won't last very long anyway. I replace before the rubber is worn out, getting 10K miles on rears & 20K miles on fronts. Hard usage will do them in faster.
Actually, tires & their installation are more costly than all of the other servicing the car needs combined, even if you go well beyond what the book calls for.

I haven't heard anything to deter me so will go forward with the PZero's on Monday. They are substantially less expensive than the PS2's. If there was a real difference in performance I would pay the price for the superior tires -- no point buying a $100k+ car then skimping on tires. However I keep hearing/reading good things about the new PZero N2's so I'll give 'em a shot.

pilot sport3??
Michelin has a new PS3 and also a new tire that is oem on the 599 gto.
The PS2s are great. I'm not a big pirelli fan. I wonder how conti sportcontact3s are? Typically contis are soft lo tech - low price rubber.

I have good experience with Pzero rosso. I am not sure if that's the one you are buying.
I also had PS2. I thought it was over hyped. Everyone said it was miles better than rosso, including tirerack. I thought the sidewall was too soft. I like my sidewalls hard because they feel better in hard cornering.
I now drive a Gallardo and have pzero rosso. That's OEM and I am sticking to it.
