Bought a stablemate for my 997SC
I have been thinking about getting a 2nd car for a long time, as a means to share the mileage with my 530HP Supercharged 997S. Within my budget of around $18-$25k I was looking at new Hondas, Kia's, pre-owned BMW's, etc. Snoresville.
Well, instead of those, I brought home this 1987 911 Carrera 3.2. It is Concourse ready, yet mean on the streets, and ready to go. It came with every single service record and receipt, original owners manual with all dealer stamps at service, original bill of sale, and truly every single piece or paper on it for the last 23 years!
Top end rebuild, original Fuchs Alloys, Blaupunkt Stereo, factory "Whale Tail" and front chin spoilers, 930 Turbo steering wheel, original tools/ pouch, air compressor, on and on...
This is so clearly the father of my 2005 997SC: that unmistakable Porsche 911 DNA is so directly passed on, one generation to the next.
No PSM, no anti-lock brakes, no air bags, no power steering, no cup-holders. But 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds? Yep, got that. Brilliant.

Congrats John!!!
A beautiful car :-)
Interesting . . . . I have been looking at 930s as well. I would love to have an RS America and have seen a few for sale.
I'm glad that you decided to stay with Zuffenhausen!

Cattman congratulations, what a buy. As a 997 owner, you could not have a picked a better 911 than a 3.2..trust me on that statement. I am so glad that you did not get a 964, 993 because they are all much more modern cars. But baby this 3.2 is retro feel all the way. No ABS, no PDK, no air bags, no power steering, no cup-holders....but plenty of "true" 911 character. BTW, your baby looks pristine. Watch out someone in your garage won't like all the attention the 3.2 is going to get over the next few days, weeks, months.
Larry (yrralis1) .. your 997 turbo and PDK are missing their great grand daddy. You cannot disappoint them..start making some room in your garage. Hey, Bimmer are you listening ?
