997.2 C2S Cab. battery completely dead?
hey guys,
my aunt recently became very sick and hasn't been able to drive her p-car. thankfully, she has made a huge recovery and when she went to try and drive her car today, the battery was dead. we call 1-800-porsche to have roadside assistance sent over. the guy came and we were horribly disappointed. it was some bum in a beat up old chevy pick up. we're used to mercedes sending someone from the dealer in a current gen ML! anyways, we tried to jump the car but it still wouldn't turn over. i've taken a video of what happens when i turn the key. i'm surprised that the battery would be completely dead already. the car isn't even 6 months old!
yes, i got the key stuck. no, it's not still there, i got it out just fine -_-

If the car sits without a battery maintainer for a long time it will toast the battery.
I hold my breath if it sits more than two weeks.
As for roadside . In my area they use a private company too but the one time i called the guy was great . He towed my turbo for a flat tire. Mercedes BTW .. uses the same towing service (I had one towed). Both were positive experiences.
As long as you've called roadside and are not happy then why not go to the dealership service advisor and see if they can help. They may send a technician with a battery just out of good customer service .

Sorry to hear that. My battery died recently after about 3 years. I also had to call P roadside. Some guy showed up in mini van but was able to re-start the car....
Sometimes, dealers will provide warranty assuming you averaged at least 6000 miles per year. Otherwise, my dealer wanted almost $400 to change out with OEM Porsche battery - nuts! After some research I picked up EverMaxx 94R from Wal Mart for $77. It's a direct fit.

Also, I would check out the alternator using multi-meter.
Mine seems to be reading 13.8 with load (headlight and AC running). is this on the low side? With engine off, battery was reading 12.7 which seems OK.

when we hooked up the car up to another car and gave the other car some gas, the porsche started to turn over, but we gave up because the other car was low on gas.
i'm hoping that the battery will be replaced under warranty, i mean the car has less than 1200 miles on it.

what irritated us the most was that the roadside assistance guy told that he's never worked on a porsche before! that was the real shocker!
