Are you asking about auto body repair or an independent mechanic? If it is the former, I would just ask some of the higher end dealers who they recommend (Sewickley Car Store and Autopalace are the local Porsche dealers). If it is the latter, then more information might be needed. I assume European make? If it is of an older vintage, there are some good options, newer cars are a bit more difficult to address as it is mostly impossible to find independent shops that can handle them.

I am talking maintenance shop, repairs not bodywork and the car would be a 997/996 C2/C4 car.
thanks

I highly recommend the Sewickley Car Store - I've used them since ~ 1999. Ask for Duane Smith the Porsche Service manager and tell him Don sent you. 412-741-6400.

+1
I would take the car to Sewickley. Duane is a great guy and would be happy to assist.

I also HIGHLY recommend Duane at Sewickley. Unfortunately, there are very few (maybe no?) options for good independent mechanics in the Pittsburgh area who service newer Porsche's.

I would not go to any of the local dealers unless needed. SCS has done a lot of bad work on many cars in the past 3 years including porsches and audis.

I would use Pete
Pete's European Techniques 1200 Stoops Ferry Rd.

He is an Audi and Porsche Mechanic and its his shop. Works on many race cars s well and is a PCCA racer and also an instructor I think. Fair price, very knowledgeable.
