Shell 90% of the time. Even at new stations, I avoid filling up if I know they recently had a gas delivery. I figure that stirs up sediment too!

Top Tier Only! My dealer used BG44k at when he certified the car. That tells me the fuel system including injectors and valves needed cleaning. The previous owner probably didnt use good gas.

No more Chevron for me

We live in a small town and like the absence of big franchises. Most new business make an effort to blend big storefronts into the landscape. Not Chevron.

What used to be a low profile gas station has been replaced by a giant 4 lane Chevron, with a mini mart. Exact same look they use in big cities. Obnoxious is an understatement. The Shell across the street opted not to follow suit.

IMO the difference in gas is minminal. The difference is Business management is what counts. Shell gets my business.

On the east cost their are 2 suppliers who supply to all different companies.....They then add chemicals to differentiate their brand.... Oil is Oil..... Just make sure that the Octane level is met......

Although it is likely some form of placebo effect, I've relied on Chevron or Union 76 for my cars. But out here in CA where high-test is a modest 91, I've found a 76 station that also has two pump stations with a separate hose that delivers Sunoco 100 unleaded race gas. So I pump 4 gallons of it and then add the rest with Union 76 high-test for an in-tank average of about 93-94 octane. Shaken not stirred. A bit **** retentive I know but the car is specced for no less than 93 so I do this with the 997 and FGT.
