Educate Me On Seats, Would Ya

Fellas -

Looking to spec my Black / Black C2S. And while I have a handle on most of the options available, I must admit I'm utterly confused by seat optionality. Let me try to paraphrase my understanding - you guys tell me if I'm right.

My understanding is that there are currently four variants of seats:

(1) The standard seats (option AN) - cost $0
(2) The standard seats with Leather (option AR) - cost $1,520
(2) The Adaptive Sports Seats (option P01) - cost $3,055
(4) The Adaptive Sports Seats with Leather (option P01L) - cost $2,695

For options (1) and (2), I understand that you can get a Power Seat package, but not for options (3) and (4). Why? Do the ***' already have the Power Seat package built in?

Similarly, for options (1) and (2), I understand that you can get a Supple Leather Front and Rear, but that it "conflicts" with options (3) and (4). Why?

What about the Heated Front seat option? Can you specify that for all four options, or again, like the the Power Seat package, is it included if you buy the Adaptive Sports Seats?

Finally, why are the Adaptive Sports Seats with Leather ($2,695) LESS COSTLY than the basic Adaptive Sports Seats ($3,055)?? Is the Leather option an ADDED cost?

Somebody please help!!

Thx in advance.

PO1 and PO1L are both electrically operated sports seats with lumbar including electrical adjustment of side bolsters.

Option P01L is at reduced cost because you will have already stumped up for a full leather interior at $3,315!

You cannot get supple leather with any of the sports seats (Ask Porsche why)

For standard seats the P15 option at $1550 adds electric movement + lumbar support

Heated seats (option 342) are another $480 and is available with all seat options, and no it's not included in any of the 4 seats as standard (This is Porsche remember?)

And go and try the sports seats before you fix your order - some people don't like them, and others love them.

A set of Sparco Milano prestige seats would look nice in there. They Retail at 1,599 a piece, made in Italy. Let me know if your interested and I will find out if they make brackets and everything else to install it on the 997.

Sparco's won't work, unless they have side airbags built in and can connect correctly to the 997 DME...

It's got nothing to do with the brackets. The 997 seats are fitted with airbags. Remove the OE seats and you have to reprogram the DME to NOT accept inputs from the airbag seat sensors. If Sparco can do that with their seats then terrific!

le chef is 100% correct, the computer will not allow a non stock seat to be installed, therefore sport seats like Sparco Evo will not work. i will be using a harness bar with the soprt seat with a protective cover so as not to mar the leather.

Hey Guys,

I'm finalizing the order on my 997S Cab and need some help with seats. So far this is what I have:

AP—Black Sport Seats—
P01 – Adaptive Sports Seats

I'm not getting the full leather but do I have to choose anything else to make the seats leather, or are they leather to begin with. This is the last damn thing holding up my order...

Thanks
