Were you saying you believe this car might be had for $89-93k? That would be 6-10k below invoice and $17-$21k below sticker. I'd take that deal if I could get it!

People like the gadget. Sport mode is fun. I drive in sport 80% of the time

I got $15k off my 2010 back in march. 2011 models are here. A bigger discount expected. So $$94k minus a discount. So yes. $93k tops

I believe he highest volume Porsche dealer in the country is in your home state. Is that where you purchased your car? It would be great if you could PM the details.

To the member who PM'd me, I greatly appreciate the advice. Unfortunately I can't reply because I don't have quite enough posts yet. I was wondering how you'd compare potential deals on used 2009s vs. new 2010s. I'd imagine there will shortly be an influx of 2009s into the market as they come off 2 year leases. What would be a good price on a used 2009 as a CPO car and what would a dealership offer a customer on a trade of such a car? For comparison purposes, assume a C2S cabriolet similarly equipped to the one I posted, with an original sticker price of $110-$115k.

Do people think that one could get a better deal on a manual vs. PDK since it seems that the demand is more for PDK?

so U want a c2scab w/pdk in Ct

I suggest planning on looking in Springfield, Hamden, R.I. I just bought my '09 c4s pdk in NJ new; July. You have to do some legwork; the forums are only somewhat helpful. Go to several dealers and challenge the salesforce. Get some info. at the 1st, adjust a bit at the second and look carefully for your true goal: c2scab w/pdk. Hold a third in reserve; yeah you'll spend some time but you'll also know the market better then the salesforce. It's shocking to me how near uninformed many are. If you know the specifics of what YOU want rather then guessing (through the legwork) you're at the advantage sitting across that desk.

I noted after getting a super deal that some other dealers were pushed to sell, some could sit. Each is a special case. Being in the right/time/place can also be an benefit. There's a Hartford dealer sitting on a car identical to mine but he won't go below $100k for the $113k car (WP0AB29989S720739). He says he can wait. And IMHO sharing the private deals seems inappropriate and eventually weakens the product value.

Bottomline : get ready to make the deal before you actual offer on a car. Draw that line in the sand and don't cross it. Be prepared to walk BUT know where the local market is.

Good Luck finding your GREAT car !

Your strategy is very sound, except I am not looking for PDK. Looking at the inventory, there are quite a few leftover 2010 PDK cars and even several 09s in CT and elsewhere.

New Pcar CT & NJ

I note that most '09 and '10 cabs in CT and NJ have 6speeds. The pdk's have few remaining. In July the manager I bought from said he sees the manual decreasing steadily. Germany has told the dealers they see no manuals, except in the GT3 and GT2, beyond 2016. The BMW manager said that M3's without DCT are very rarely seen this past year; note these are now only available via order, few are bought over to sit in a showroom.

Hey I loved my six but we also loved our first cellphones. And dial-up modems too.

I just drove 300 miles in the c4s; into the mountains at +75 mph and got 24.5 mpg with the overdrive pdk (in sport mode). Had a Trooper tailing me for a 'view' for awhile at 78 mph; that was interesting!

Some will say they don't drive for conservation but the reality is efficiency is an engineer's objective. Of course the coupe is a bit more efficient then a cab.

The situation at the dealer you mentioned is odd in indeed. Their website shows an inventory of 6 2009 and 6 2010 Carreras, along with 3 2011 models. Hard to figure why they aren't more aggressive, at least with the 09s. I respectfully disagree with your comment about sharing information about deals. Access to information is the key to an open market and helps level the playing field between buyers and dealers.

I too am looking to lease a 2010 C2S Cab but in PDK. I live in NY and have noticed that most 2010 cars are manuals in the northeast. The best that I have gotten is 12% off MSRP of 155-120k cars on a 24 month lease. I agree that it is positive to share info about deals and leases to forum members. It helps out the buyer gain knowledge on discounts gotten by other forum members. If anyone has any leads on 2010 PDK cars, it would be greatly appreciated. I will post my findings Monday for anyone who is interested..

Is there a web site that allows you to search the U S for available Porsches? I know the corvette has a site JEFFHARDY.COM where you can search every vette available. Just curious as I may be in the market very soon and would like to see what is out there. Thanks. BTW I loved my 09 PDK.
