Leftover 2010 vs. Used 2009 Deals

I'm looking to buy a 2009 or 2010 Carrera S Cabriolet between now and next Spring. I'm wondering what kind of discount I can hope for on a leftover 2010 and how this compares in value to a used 2009. I've already read through previous threads going back a few months and picked up a lot of useful info. Several people expressed the opinion that used cars were generally overpriced at that time compared to new. Is this still true? Thanks in advance for the help and advice

The 2009 will have already taken the largest depreciation during that time. It should be the better buy for the money. However, it is your choice in the end.

it is amazing how fast the 2009s drop.

I am in the market too for a C2S and i see the same cars losing value all the time...

I am certain that after January we will start seeing 2009 C2S under 70K!

How much of a discount do people think that a leftover 2010 Carrera S (100K-105K MSRP) one could get? Is 20% out of the question?

I was immediately quoted $10K off the $115K sticker by a local dealer, so I assume I can do better. The questions is, how much better, and what is the market price for a comparably equipped 2009?

FWIW, the 2009 Carrera 997.2 w/ PDK that I picked up had a sticker price of $92K, I bought for $72K and it had 8700 miles on the odo.... just thought I'd share if it gives any point of reference.

I just went through this - 2010 leftovers on the showroom floor - got about 13% off at 2 dealers. Decided to order a 2011 at 8% off so I can get what I want.

My 2009 C2S is coming off lease next month residual on it is $70K (2 year lease, 10K miles per).

Mark Ducate, or DRLC6, Were your cars green, or aqua blue, by chance?

C2S '09s might trade below 70k more commonly at some point, but it feels more like the asks are dropping from 79.9, to ~75. On top of this, some of the aqua blue cars seem to be stacking up and every single one of the ~6 green cars I've looked into appears to have been a launch demonstrator. Carfaxes consistently have 1500-5000 miles before 1st title.
