Subscribed. This is an interesting one. We've all said it really can't be that hard to infuse LED's into a taillight assembly. Hard to make a buck I suppose, if you need to first purchase a set of 997.1 tails to modify. The PICS look good. Guess we'll need to start a fund to beta test the first pair!

Agree that at those prices OEM LEDs + rear bumper modification (or outright replacement) option comes into the picture.
Even if you install the 997.2 bumper, I think the tails will add a grand on top of that, so that's quite a bill for LED's.

^ that would definitely be a deal breaker. it's one thing paying up for modified OEM housings, but if the housings themselves aren't OEM then no deal.

I got a reply back from one of the sellers and they are offering a whopping 10% off for 10 purchases LOL I was asking for like $600 shipped...

I think these guys also make 996 LEDs and I recall there being a group buy. I will see if I can dig up the old thread...

I'm certainly intrigued with these LED's, but I'm going to sit tight until I see a few successful installs. Who's going to drop a G to see if these things work as advertised?

Taiwan Lamp Co is the manufacturer, got a hold of them but they wont sell into the USA because they have an agent already but they did not tell me who this agent is.

Ebay ones are all shipping from Asia so if we can source the US importer IM sure he will work a better deal.

Ive decided against them, based on the other stuff the make it looks just a bit too much 'asian tuner' style for me.

Based on what the prices are on the other products I could see these being had for under $500 a pair EASY at that quantity.

That link above is the factory contact via the b2b site. We need to find the US wholesaler / distributor or maybe get Vivid involved, have them open a dealer account and you guys can all go through a vendor?

We are calling our guy from Asia to see if he can get these lights and get a GB going for $600. Like most of you said, we need to see how it works and if any error lights come on or hyper blink.

I want to poll the 997 crowd, if Precision porsche can get you the OEM 997.2 LED tails for $800-ish as part of a PP 2010 GT3 rear bumper/lights package, would that be of interest to any of you? Rear bumper will be in the $1400-range

Looking forward to GP but is $600 the lowest we can go? I presume we can get quite a few people with 997TT folks. In fact, one member already ordered the lights so we will see them in action in about a couple weeks.

I'll wait and see what he says. I know it's prob going to be around there b/c the guy we buy from knows that when a new item hits the market, people will pay premium and thus, he charges us a lot and we have to buy in bulk. We still have 996 LED taillights sitting in our warehouse that we paid more than what they are going for now. Our minimum buy is 20 sets I believe. It may be cheaper going through that alibaba route...but I will try and see what I can do.
