LED DRL's
I have been researching various options for adding LED drl's to my 06 997. The two options that look the best (other than replacing the entire front end to a 997.2) are the Techart add ons and the SpeedArt replacements for the fog/turn signal. Both of those are in the $1,500 (installed for the Techart). I found these from EuropeanPerformanceProducts.com and wanted to see what you guys think. The only difference looks like the techarts have an all black housing, where as the less expensive ones have a reflective chrome-like backing.

They replace your front fog lights and give you the "same" LED look as the 997.2.

The SpeedArt DRL's are the ones that replace the existing fog/turn lights. They have a strip of LED's mounted inside the OEM housing.
Wish some of the board sponsors would chime in.

The TechArt pdf shows a pix of theirs installed, but its a distance shot and shows little detail. The ones from tmtuning and the other website are listed as "universal" and have install pix on a variety of cars but not a 997. My thing is that they look exactly the same. The mounting hardware is the same, even the yellow tape on the wiring is the same.

Techarts are a black plastic housed LED strip that is bolted onto the stock bumper. The OEM fog housing remains. Sharkwerks has photos of this on their website. It's not very discrete in my opinion, albeit, product quality should be top notch as techart does spend a good amount of time and money on R&D.

I actually held a set of the SpeedArt LED's while visiting GMP yesterday. Stephen, the owner, took me back and showed them to me. Very nice! The quality is top-notch! These are OEM units with the LED's already installed and the wiring to go along with them. The only question I had was whether or not there were any issues which Stephen had none to report. GMP has sold several already with no complaints to date, so not sure if anyone out there can chime in as to the install procedure or take-aways.
Note: I have not seen these installed or turned on, but I did see pictures while I was there, and they do look nice if you're looking to add LED's without wanting to do the facelift.

Per the GMP website, they are $1,484 for the pair with wiring, etc... There's also a picture posted there. http://gmpperformance.com/index.cfm?...ail&PID=205678

So... SpeedArt's are OEM turn/fog lights with a strip of LEDs added to the housing.
So... the buyer is paying $1400.00 for a strip of LEDs and the wiring setup/changes to make the modification a plug and play.

Pretty much, and its not plug n play. You still have to wire them in. Its less than $400 in parts to build these, so its a 1K premium for them to put them together. Pretty steep IMHO. I could see maybe $700-800, but jeez.
