Good looking care - since no one has mentioned I'd like to point out that you got the new style Shift Paddles - very nice - and I love the deviated carpeting (black vs. Sand Beige) - very nice again.

One question - why is your wife sleeping in the car? If I were her I'd ask to drive it! That'll wake you up.

Enjoy the ride!

Love the paint/interior combo--and those are the nicest wheels Porsche now makes. Drive it well!

Congratulations on your purchase. Very nice pictures. Loving the 19 " turbo II wheels. Did your car have the makassar wood package ? I would suggest a clear-bra for the full hood for a daily driver. One downside is the yellowing of the clear-bra (if not properly upkept...and this will show easily on a white car )after a few years but ventureshield and xpel offer lifetime warranty against yellowing if I'm not mistaken. You will learn a lot about your car like different driving modes, SPASM etc in the days/weeks to come as you spend more time driving that beauty. I would recommend a dedicated 18 inch wheel/tire package for the winter season and avoid short trips in cold weather. Good luck.

My car does have the Makassar wood package. Although, in the 911 literature you get from the dealership, it shows the wheel in wood with said package. My wheel is in leather -- I prefer the look of the leather wheel though.

I also did the clear bra at the dealership when I got the car.

Why do you recommend against short trips in the cold? It's cold often here and the car is my daily driver. Although, in bad weather I can take my wife's car.

Thanks for the advice.

to the guy who sent me a pm, I can't reply until I have 15 posts. I'll try to answer your question later on in the thread.

Welcome to 6 speed, I saw a 997.2 GT3 in person on the weekend, but I didn't like it at all. This is one of those colours that either people like or don't like, no in between.

Congrats on the new car though, and welcome to Porsche.

I usually make it a rule to not start my car unless I will be driving it long enough for the engine and all the fluids to warm up to normal operating temperatures. It is good practice to do that for the good health of your engine. Just take the scenic/ longer route to work. You should be able to achieve your goal (normal operating temperatures) in about 6 to 7 miles or so.

I would also encourage you to spend some time reading threads in the detailing section on how to wash your car, maintain the clear-bra and interior leather. I too am not a big fan of wooden steering wheels.
