M3 gone, 997.2S in its place. (pics)
You may remember my post from a week or so ago agonizing over whether to pick up a 997.2S or stick with my M3. Well, the Porsche was too alluring, so I made the switch.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed in my last thread (especially Larry, stevepow, KK Moto, ryem3, wootporsche and alan000). It helped my decision.
Here are the details.
2010 PDK with Sports Chromo, cream white with sand beige full leather interior. I haven't seen any 911's in cream yet (of course, where I live there are few 911's anyhow). I will be putting on sottozero's for winter soon.
I am very happy with the car and look forward driving every chance I get. I made several excuses to go into town already.
Here are some of answers to the questions in my previous thread.
The M3 is more comfortable, but the 911 is very tolerable. In the 200 mile plus journey from the dealership to my house I didn't get tired at all. More importantly my wife enjoyed the car too. She said sleeping in the M3 is more comfortable because of the Porsche's inclined neck support. Storage leaves a bit to be desired, but that was to be expected. With some clever packing, I see no reason the 911 couldn't be used for road trips.
Thanks again for all the support. Please enjoy these pics of my new 911. I was going to include interior pics, but my camera's battery died.

Congrats!.. Had I 'ordered' a 911, rather than taking a car that was available through the dealer's locator service, it would have been cream white. I love that color. The Porsche dealer in Chapel Hill, NC still has a '10 cream white over cocoa PDK cab that's been on the floor for months. If it had been a coupe, I very likely would have brought it home.

nice new ryde
congrats on the move! The car is stunning. I'm from bimmer territory also and looking for my first Porsche. I love that color combo. In fact almost any exterior with the terracotta/beige family leather, blows me away.
Best of luck with 'er!
