Slightly faded rear wind deflector....
Is this common?
The rear spoiler (wind deflector) on my newly acquired 2006 997 C2S Cabrio appears a bit faded compared to the rest of the paint on the car.
When I brought it to the attention of the salesman at CarMax, he told me this was very common on the newer Porsches with retractable wings since they were made of plastic and not metal, and the paint tended to fade there more over time than on the rest of the car.
Basically, they said there was nothing they could do about it, since repainting would only cause chipping and peeling.
Any thoughts? Will I just have to "get used to" the faded wind deflector? Can this be a simple fix at a good body shop?
As always, thanks for the input!
