Porsche 997 question on price
Hello guys,
can someone help, I am searching for an 07 carrera low miles, but I was wondering what would be the average private seller and dealer price.
I think right know prices are a little higher then past months..maybe someone can give a good idea.
thanks

yeah you are right but its hard to set a budget and to find a car with options your are looking for,but I was thinking maybe something around $53k options are not that important, but definetly want the xenon lights and heathed seats, I don't want a high milage car and something with factory warranty left

07 base cars with low miles and CPO's are asking mid 60's and most of the private sales are in the 50's . In short the 55-65K range is feast of cars --most of which are overpriced .
I would rather have no car or negotiate on a new car.

53K --Yikes!!!
Here's the problem you'll face in that range -- EVERYONE who is bargain shopping Porsches is hoping to get the car for 45-55K and the competition either has used car sales bored Or selling cars with multiple owner history and high miles .
It's very hard to find "the one" at that price and get a seller who is interested enough to bother because before you ever call him he's probably already answered 10 others who ask questions, kick the tires, want the car for less , and end up not buying it.

Don't forget Carmax. Even though they will not sell a CPO Porsche,(or CPO anything for that matter) there are great deals to be found. I paid 46K for my '06 C2S Cabrio, with 46k miles on it. I was fortunate to find a one-owner car with nothing more than basic wear and tear (slight scuffs on the handbrake, gear shift, steering wheel leather, etc...). As per my Porsche mechanic (and personal friend) who did an extensive ppi, the car is "mechanically perfect".
I really had not thought about making a purchase for another year or so, but i could not pass up on this deal. Keep your eye out, do your research, and be ready to buy if/when you see the deal. Your car IS out there, at the price you can afford. You may have to be a bit flexible though (ie color, interior options, year, etc...) Good luck!

A Porsche with 32K miles bought at a Lexus dealership is not a low mile CPO car .
In fact there are many Porsches at Lexus dealerships in recebnt times which might even imply that the used car managers are buying them at auction because they hold value.
Carmax also is a NON Porsche dealership .
Even cars with low miles at an idependent lot is not a guarantee. It is not unheard of to see a 10K mile car with 4 previous owners either. A car which sat in the shop can have low miles too.
Most people who buy a used car want some type of reassurance that it will be reliable. Sometimes thdey find a good deal --but if one klooks back two years ago
53K bought a lot more car than it does in todays used Porsche 997 market.

My point to the original poster was that if he's patient and diligent in his search, he'll probably find what he's looking for.

Another Flower Mounder here...! Tons around DFW in that price range...all depends on what you're after on color and options and mileage. I know several in the area as I just finished an exhaustive search for same year (ended up going new though). PM me if you like and I can give you my cell...happy to talk through a few of them that I looked at. Also, before you make your decision, you need to drive my 997.2
