Exclamation Sticky gas gauge???

I have a 2005 911S which is starting to have some annoying problems. The latest is that I went to fill up the car today. Put in 16 gal of fuel, then went to start the car--gauge only shows 7/8 full. Anyone else had this happen to them???

when you drive off, does the gauge go up to 8/8? I had that happen to me on my BMW a few times.. nothing to be worried about if so...
Maybe the sensor is defective?

Chances are it was not full. On some gas stations, the hose stops before the tank is full.

New to the site... I to have the same issue, gas gauge shows 7/8 of a tank at time of fill up. Actually, pump stops 2-3 times while filling prior to being full.

Rotate the hose filler sideways 90deg (aligned with the car main axis) and fill slowly towards the end and see if it helps.

Thank you for the tip! I'll try it on my next fill-up.

2010 C4S sometimes when I fill up, the fuel guage does not move off empty and the light stays on, othertimes this happens and then whilst driving the guage slowly moves up and the distance to empty increases. And other times it works fine!!
