White stuff under oil cup

Hi all.

I was on this forum for a while but only watching you guys.

Yesterday I was coming back home and noticed that oil pressure dosnt drop when on lower rpm. Also dial was acting weird. I stepped on it couple times but car seams to be acting normal. When I got home i checked oil cup and under i found some white stuff. Could be a head gasket. Any thoughts.

it might not be head gasket... white residue shows up also if you do not let the car properly warm up and then shut down... i.e., taking many short trips

I remember seeing similar white stuff on my step-dads 911 in the late 70's,

it was due to the engine oil not getting & staying hot enough.

The more things change.......

Short trips in cold weather. No big deal.

Cool

Like said above, a small amount of white stuff is just accumulated moisture.

As far as the guage acting strange, find your oil pressure sendor and take the wire leads off and clean then and reinstall. They tend to get corosion and make the guage act funny. Mine went nuts and totally dropped to zero. This fixed it and it's working fine so far.

your car needs more exercise!
you have moisture in the oil. get it up to temperature more often. you'll both be happier.
