RE-ORDERED! CS4 being build

Many of you know my tale from the last order attempt but suffice it to say Porsche Stuttgart didn't include several critical options I asked for on my special order '11 C4S, although they were on the window sticker.ANYWAY...sick of repeating that story...

The important thing is that I've decided to re-order. I chose a different dealership even though the dealer wasn't entirely at fault in the process. But it's a refreshing change. They knew my situation and the TLC was nice. They offered an unbelievable deal which I can't disclose, and they are a mile from my house.

For the most part I kept everything the same, although I changed to the Turbo 2 wheel (from the T.1) and I tweaked the interior. I chose the 2--tone beige with black dash and then got deviating black carpet as a $710 option. It's worth it because the black carpet runs up the bottom of the doors. With a black headliner, pillars, carpet, dash, black alcantara wheel, handbrake, shifter, and storage bin, the only thing that is really beige are the seats. (and the lower dash)

They had a turbo on the floor built this way and I found it to be striking as heck. I'll run by and snap a photo of this floor car to post.

The exterior is Basalt with PASM and rear wiper. PASM, Sport Chrono, PCM 3/nav, BOSE, full leather, 6mt, DCL, dimming pkg, heated seats, PSExhaust, Alcantara wheel, shift, brake, bin, seat crest,

For the record I am more excited this time than I was last time. I appreciate all those folks on this forum who talked me off the ledge time and time again. I'll post pics of course.

Order has been placed. Deposit in. Late Feb delivery. Cheers.

Eric, way to go buddy, glad to hear that you chose to re-re order the car of your dreams. Hopefully this time around everything will work out the right way. I am imagining the interior you describe and I think it will look great.

That is going to be a beautiful car - saw one very similar early this year, Basalt with two-tone and deviating black carpet, at the dealer. It was super nice.

I think that was a good decision, Eric. This car won't have bad memories and I expect the dealer will put special effort into making sure everything is right before delivery. And you will love the car if my own experience is anything to go by.

Now since you just did it, let me ask a question. I went over the order sheet carefully before buying our C2S last year. We ended up tempted into a car on the lot, but the question still nags at me: How the devil does one order "full leather"? Everything down to the trim on small items has a separate leather option, but I could find no way at all to just say "give me full leather".

How specifically did you do it?

Gary

If you added all those leather options, it would cost thousands - and it might not look so great - leather AC vents - leather PCM - seems over the top. I did see a car with the leather steering column - that was nice. And leather visors would be good, but are probably better ordered from Suncoast with no labels on them.

Precisely what I thought! Can you imagine trying to separately consider each possible place to glue leather?

So how do people order "full leather", which obviously means something more tasteful -- and less expensive -- then slapping hundred dollar bills around the cabin?

Oh yes, and Suncoast sells visors without that stupid label? I just added something to my Christmas list.

RE-RODERED! ??? Oh ! You mean re-ordered. Well coming from Eric, I should have expected some mix-up...
Jokes aside, I can't wait to see your baby come Feb 2011. BTW, simsgw: Happy one yr anniversary for your 997 last month. I think we both got our cars on the same day last Nov.

There's really no such thing on the options, only in the description () of the option: "partial leather seats"(leather finish on seat center, lateral supports and head restraint), "leather seats"(seats in full leather), "leather interior"(full leather),...and then the long list of other leather do-dads which gives you an idea of what is not leather in the "leather interior(full)" option.

Not sure if I have ever seen a "leather seats" car.

Ours was 21 November and did not go unremarked. Trouble is we're both pretty sick with a cold and the best we could do is raise a glass of hot tea with lemon to honor the day.

The sad part is you said "last month" and I stumbled at first. My God, we've had this bug since 12 Nov and here it is December already.

I have a leather seats car. It just means the back of the seat is covered in leather.

Ahh regarding FULL LEATHER...I meant just leather dash and center console (in addition to seats). Not all the bits and switches in leather. Sorry.

The term comes to me from the BWM experience. When you get a leather dash they call it full leather.

Anyway here is a model car that gave me the idea for my color scheme: This will be very close to my scheme except I will have a few added black alcantara bits like the wheel, shifter, and console lid.

In addition I chose the adaptive sport buckets. This gives me gray seat back plastic which I debated painting black. tough call...

Two tone black/sand beige with deviating black carpeting is by far the most unique and classy looking interior IMO . I have a 997 C4S that I bought second hand and it has the two tone black/sand beige but does not have the deviating black carpeting so I installed black floor mats which helps a lot . Next car I order will have the two tone with black carpeting irregardless of the exterior color.

I am glad to hear that you worked out a new path to getting the right car. It sounds like you have really given thought to options and color choices and now all you have to do is wait a bit . This sounds great !!! I am even smiling at th is point .. and it's not even my car !!

Congrats !!!
