Excellent idea. Also... he should try his phone on other cars at the dealer. It could be a phone bluetooth issue.

Can you elaborate about the Cayman volume selection? I don't see any options for this on the 911. Do you recall how to set this up?
I checked in the 997 and it does not have the same setup as the Cayman.

I had a similar issue recently, where I could hear the other party fine but they could only hear me at a full shout, and even then juuuust barely. Turns out it was a faulty microphone, and when it was replaced everything is perfect.

(PCM 3.0, AT&T iPhone 4)
