997.2 blue tooth problems.

I have an 09 C2S and i have been complaining to the dealer about muffled voice when talking to others. I have brought this back several times and they have not done anything. I had a Cayenne as a loaner the other day and others can here me just fine in the Cayenne. They are blaming the mic location in the 911. I think a have a bad mic. Anyone else have issues or please report back it works good?

I don't have a problem with others hearing me. On my Cayman S there was a selection for volume of my voice. I haven't checked the Carrera. That might be a place to look if you haven't already.

The big problem I have the BT in the Carrera is that it randomly drops my phone book. It will be gone for a few days and then magically return.

Alan,
Can you elaborate about the Cayman volume selection? I don't see any options for this on the 911. Do you recall how to set this up?

I found it by accident scrolling through one of the option screens. I'll go down to the garage later and see if I can find it on my car which is an 09 Carrera S with PCM less Nav.

I don't think there is a Voice Volume setting in the PCM 3.0. If you go to SOUND, then push OPTIONS, you'll see Ringtone Volume, which is not for voice.

Try adjusting the volume on your phone instead. When I am on a call on my iPhone, I can adjust the volume on the handset and it in turn adjusts the volume in the PCM, too.

Mine works very well. The mic location is not a choice, it goes in the steering column. I don't think mic location is an issue, since it can be fine as designed.

You could have a bad mic or some obstruction or perhaps the mic is not installed correctly - or could be bad.

Call your land line and leave yourself a message so you can hear what the problem sounds like to others. Then do the same directly from your phone, not BT. Compare those to make sure it's the BT that is the issue.

You can adjust the sensitivity to your voice on your phone? Or just how loud you hear others?

My 09 C2S Cab bluetooth works fine. In fact it works better than the bluetooth on my MDX.

I left myself a message on my home phone and I sounds muffled just like everyone has been telling me. This is BS. I have wasted over three tries and several days of not having my car over this little issue. I will call them and request a new mic.

Just asking because hearing others didn't sound like his issue.

They should be able to do the same thing from your car and another car, with your phone or one of their own, to verify the issue. That should be conclusive and take just a minute or two.

Should be as simple as stated. The dealer said he tried it with their phone and could hear the driver fine. I can't believe it works fine for them. I have used two phones iPhone 3GS and 4 and both have problems.

Why don't you bring your iPhone to the dealer and have them call one of their phones and let you hear the conversation. That's one way to know for sure whether it's your iPhone or the PCM bluetooth.

bluetooth stinks

Realistically, it's probably not the car. I had to get a Motorola razr to work on my 997. my HTC sounded like u describe.

Bluetooth has not come close to meeting expectations...
