yes u can feel the big difference even when not under braking. worth the money or not that's personal preference. another hype for the ceramics on the side is it's almost dust free.

negatives- big $ and they dont stop the car any faster

positives- they look better, fade less, AND#1 they make the car handle slightly better as they reduce a tremendous amount of unsprung weight...probably close to 40lbs...if you do them dont defeate the purpose and then load the car up with tons of heavy **** like power seats etc etc i would even go as far as sunroof delete

any car you build that is a sports car you want to be as light as possible...the M3 I just ordered has no power seats and no sunroof you want that **** buy A LEXUS imho..!

I just read the Feb issue of "GT Purely Porsche" and the 2005 Turbo S was put to the test. With regards to the brakes this is what they said: "The standard PCCB setup is absolutely fantastic for track use. While outright stopping performance is little better than the standard steel items. PCCB is utterly tireless. Whereas the Carrera S we had tested earlier this week was pouring smoke after half a dozen laps, with the pedal starting to soften, the Turbo felt like it could carry on all day. No smoke, no fade, just fantastically consistent feel. This is due to bigger disks, bigger calipers, and the ceramic composites' ability to take higher temperatures. It takes just two seconds to halt from 30mph and even more impressive, just 4.6 sec to stop from 100mph. The deceleration leaves you gasping, literally hanging against the seatbelt."

I have ceramics on my GT3 and they were quiet at first but after a few mild track sessions, they started to squeal like crazy. The factory of course would not warranty the replacement but the dealer did offer to swap the hard ceramic pads out for softer ceramic pads. Car is quiet now but I have not had any track time since the softer pads. But if you don't intend to race the car a lot, see if you can get the softer pad. I was told the softer pad is an option now but didn't confirm it in person.

The softer pad is a "street" only pad. It's never meant to be used on the track.
