GTS Delivery

In reference to the above two comparisons, the first is a 997.2 with PSE which is going to sound significantly different than the second (red) 997.1 with PSE. There are a lot of write-ups about how to get the tone of the 997.1 for the 997.2's since the .2's are designed to run quiter (in theory anyway).
As far as the black lower trim, to me, that makes the car...especially the black rear diffuser piece! I too have the black lower trim on my C4S but with the non-GTS/GTRS lower side skirts. I will be painting my rear diffuser area black as well when I have the bumper off to install the Cargraphic setup. Shadowing in pictures may create an optical illusion, but in person, there's no doubt the car sits nice and low the way it should. In my opinion, it actually accents the lines of the wide hips!
Keep her as she is! The GTS is beautiful!!!

I measured as best I could and it looks like the underbody sits ~5 inches off the ground and at the widest part the side skirt is ~6 inches off the ground.
Re: PSE, I do agree the .1 sounded better. Below is my '07 on a cold start. I do not have SC, so no Sport button.

awesome. Gurgles when cold. Sport button doesn't change anything audibly other than just turning on the PSE as it also enables other doodads.
Regarding SC, as you know you can add it minus wart. I think YOU have the best of both worlds by doing so. No annoying dash wart but the benefits of the PSM and throttle response. This is how my first 997.2 was.
Again...just modding your car for you

Regarding the lower trim pieces in black, no one has yet mentioned the functionality behind why Porsche leaves them un-painted as standard. The trim pieces are in high-wear areas and will show blemishes/rock chips more prominently over time if painted. While it may look better painted to some, they are left as matte black for a reason! It's like the front lip on the 997 Turbos - you can paint them but the first episode you have pulling into a steep driveway will make you wish you didn't!
Congrats on the new ride - I'm also in Atlanta but didn't make the C&O meet this past Sunday - wish I had to see my first GTS in person! Enjoy - hope to meet you soon! (Notice my avatar pic was taken in the service bay at Hennessy!) Oh, and whoever mentioned doing a P-car meet / mountain run, count me in!

Let's get real, they are left black so they can charge you 1700 to paint them. None of my 911's ever got rock chips or dings there. painted or not.
Other manufacturers such as BMW and Audi keep the lowers black in the first year of a body style then as a midlife change they paint them to build appeal...a facelift. Totally lame.

Hey thanks for the post of the car. I was considering one myself. Any more pics....or even a video? I know Im asking a lot!!! Also, interior shots?
Can you compare it to other porsche 911's you have owned?
If you already posted this...my bad...I will check again.
Thanks

Here you go:

You can definitely tell the difference between PSE off and PSE on.

Doug:
Agreed! BIG DIFFERENCE with the PSE on vs. off! Very nice! Thanks for the additional pic's and videos! Excellent choice all the way around. The Alcantara touches (IMHO) really make the interior of these cars.
I can't help but think the GTS will fall into its own exclusive bucket on down the road similar to that of the RS America's.
Congrats again on a nice ride!!!

WOAH!!! I have not seen that steering wheel with non-PDK (6-speed)
I have only seen that 3-silver double-spokes with paddle shifters. Too cool.
I might have to mod my wheel! Although mine is the multifunction alcantara black spoke.

She is a car lover too, so I don't get a lot of sanity checks every time I find a new automotive "want". She pointed out yesterday that, "You realize our son just turned 4 and this is the 3rd new car you've had since he was born. " But yes, she is a keeper.
