Here's my opinion - 78K is a lot of money to spend .
It's my opinion that if one is going in this deep he ought to either buy a new car or a used car where he knows the owner and the car's history . To simply purchase the car from an independent lot at this price sounds like too much risk .

Ideally the used car shopper is searchng in the 50-65K range .
Over 70K it ought to be new ... or a Turbo.
Agreed (and I usually abstain from these threads...it's your $$ after all).

At 18K miles, it hasn't been a garage queen and without CPO.....

Fwiw, in Sept 09 I paid $75K for an 08 C4S with 1,400 miles and a $130K sticker and then $95K for an 08 Turbo with less than 8,000 miles in May 2010. Also received $70K trade-in at that time so can't complain. Both were P-dealers and the Turbo is CPO'd.

I think you can do better if you're not stuck on a Targa. You probably can snag a low(er) mileage 07 Turbo for about that money if you look around. That's the great thing about used Porsche's; so many people buy them and just let them sit in the garage or trade them in every year for a new one. Find one of those. Best,

I read into this shortly into this thread . It's a tough car in many ways because it is rare and the buyer has specific interest. It's hard to buy, hard to sell, hard to price . That why my first choice was to buy it new and custom order the car . But if green and those options are so close and the 74K brings it all home then buy it and enjoy it.

If you love it, buy it. If you want to sell it later...you might want to think about how difficult it is to sell the color...and with the 991's coming out.

$50k off for 2 yr car. Sounds good to me! I like the options. Don't care much for green but love the targa!

I have actually seen the Malachite green in person. I must say it's really beautiful. Defiantly unique. I know it's not for everyone. But it really stands out from the crowed.

Base C4 optioned to within 10K of a new base turbo when new. TO me its crazy.

If you are going to keep this forever then go for it. If you get bored quickly, I think you will lose quite a bit AND have difficulty selling it. Good luck.

Wow this thread makes me nervous about what my 09 C2S sticker 100k is going to be worth. Really wanted to get into a CPO 09 turbo this spring...
