i have a bad grinding noise when shifting between gears 1 and 2 and i know for a fact its a synchro problem. i will get my gearbox rebuilt at ARM in dubai. i need help with what i need tochange exactly, is it only the synchro ring or anything else should be replace along with it? and i need the part numbers of what needs to be changed.

What you been doing it that car ?
Surely when the dealer / mechanic opens the gear box, they will tell you whats required to repair....
I am assuming you are out of warranty....

well, i had the problem when my car was still under warrenty but porsche dealer n dubai considered it "a miss use defect" due to over reving :S

 

Talk to GBox or Guard, they will sort you out with all the best goodies. IMO if I had my transmission open I would get a Guard LSD and consider changing my gearing.
