Just looked at cars.com and had a major lust attack:
http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...ice&sf1Dir=ASC

looks like $140K right now buys a very nice low miles gt2 car. or even $125K.
it is all an after-lease stock? looks like a lot of cars.

Just a frame of reference, I bought my 08 997 GT2 for $159 in the last week of June last year. It had 125 miles on the odometer and sat in Ken Lingenfelter's garage/showroom for a year. My car had retailed $212K when it was new.

Looking at the price range, the depreciation seems appropriate for mileage, and is not that far off since last year.

The North American production numbers were:

2008: 185
2009: 20

...far far fewer than the GT3 and GT3 RS. 18 out of 185 2008 997 GT2s are on cars.com.

you have to figure that at least 10% of those owners might have scared the crap out of themselves and might be looking for a Prius

i wonder what is better - a '08 gt2 car or a new 997.2 gt3 rs.
and where to get at least $100K of extra free cash from. just kidding, but still, 10% of entire USA stock for sale in '08 year - it is kinda odd. other years are not represented in such amount.

True.

And also interesting is the majority of GT2s on car.com had mileage <4-5K miles. Makes you wonder who's really buying them. Those who bought and planned on selling their garage queens, or those who bought and planned to drive them.

cbzzoom is infamous around these parts
Crazy. $130k looks like a pretty good deal for a lightly used GT2 when you can easily spend $100k on a new 997.

Generally speaking, do you think people are scared of driving / owning a GT2 ?

I heard the 996 was difficult to control, but the 997 has SC and TC, so ?
