Are they using a cayenne derived v8 in the prototype Porsche?

Donahue's car #9 has a Porsche V8 (Cayenne). The FL's car #45 (Bergmeister/Long) has a flat6.

The flying lizard car was very far ahead in the lead early in the race, then I fell asleep and when I woke up they are 18 laps down?! How the hell did that happen?

Something happened when the team owner took over... it was damaged and it took time to fix. Bergmeister and Long will do their best, but 18 laps down is a lot to overcome, even on a 24h race.

Would love to meet him someday. I've run into Patrick Long a few times away from the track...he is a really nice guy too.

I went over to Daytona early this morning and walked I donlt know how many miles...my foot hurts! Anyway, the weather was amazing, saw some friends I DE with and had a great time. I just back back home.

I should have said, "I have 4 friends racing today". I focused on David as I was in touch with him yesterday to wish him luck. I'm also riding along with Hurley, Johannes, and Patrick. So I've got pals in the DP and the GT. I should have driven down this weekend, ah, onto the bucket list...

Coverage on Speed has gone dark here (ATL, GA) in favor of some hideous Toyota stock-car race.

Last I saw on the Grand-Am site, Hurley and team Brumos #59 were leading in the GT class, David in the #5 DP was in 3rd, and the Flying Lizard DP was fighting back from a 30 lap deficit.

I've got to say, of all the gents I've met in life, these are all truly wonderful men, cut from a similar cloth.
