Thumbs up Ordered a GTS from Downtown LA Porsche - Great Deal, Nice People

Hello All,

On a referral I contacted Porsche of Downtown LA about a GTS. I did this after a few calls and a few in person visits at local Bay Area dealers......

On the phone, Allen and Keni made me a deal on the car without hesitation, and snagged me their May allocation - I was flabbergasted in a way - no hard sell, no pitch, an easy deal on the phone. Allen said they really like to take care of their referrals, and they sure did.

If anyone is in the market, or just dreaming, be sure to contact Allen Hsiang or Keni Huang at Porsche Downtown LA.

Oh, I went down there to meet them and shake hands onthe deal as I was in town for a visit anyway. All friendly and helpful folks there, good attitude.

Conventional wisdom says....

Conventional wisdom says........

You will always get your best deal in-person.

Remarkably, Porsche of Downtown LA made me a deal over the phone which blew-away my other three in-person dealer interactions in the Bay Area and one other I had in SoCal......

I've always read that the best deal is had by calling around the dealerships and playing them against each other to get the best deal. Harder to do with Porsches though as they are never identical cars.

Dealin

My experience is that calling and working the dealers will only get you so far..........

When the sales guys have a warm body there, they are more apt to kick down a deal..............

Ex. when I have started to walk at the end these interactions, a few sales guys have asked me " what can I do to earn your business ?"..... I then gave them a number, and then they go back to sales manager, and the dance continues or stops.................

Porsche of Downtown LA gave me two numbers - one for a car coming in, one for ordering a car. The numbers were so good, I did not push further, at risk of embarrassment.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but if you didn't get at least 8% off , u got no bargain. They have over 11.5% to play with plus dealer holdbacks. The GTS was conceived to use up excess parts on the current 997.2 before the new 991 comes out. It is basically a marketing ploy.

I will say this, the dealers were really tough with this car. The GTS may be a marketing ploy to get rid of parts, buts it's a great one. 2wd, wide body, X51 and wingless.....the way a 911 should be! Congrats on you new ride UncleJosh. What color and options?

merciful !

Guys,

I salute you if you can get invoice or just above invoice on these cars.

I see you are on the East Coast.

Can you share the dealers and contact info ? Flying out East to pick up a car and a drive across country would be a blast.

DCI: Coupe, White, sport susp., sport chrono, Nav, heated seats, rear wiper........

Thanks
