I rarely exceed 160kms./hr. on the highways.
Mine is a 094SCab.
A GT3 has different OEM tires (R compound).

My 09 C4S cab pressures are 37F, 44R.
My 11 GT3 pressures are 29F, 31R.

Not really...GT3's run 29/33....he will be around 34/37 hot with normal street driving.

At the track on a spring day I start out at 26/28

But 34/40 is the cold setting - street warm should be 37/43. Heck, it's his car and his life.

Also... why do people buy a sports car and then drop tire pressures so the thing runs like molasses?

actually his car stock settings is 33/39...the 34/40 did not come until the 2009 model.

At the track we run lower pressures for better traction. When most tires get above 40 psi in general they get slippery. I can tell at the track a 1-2psi difference. When my R888's get above 38 PSI they lose grip. they really like to be run at 35-37psi hot. My RA1's liked about 1-2psi more but there side wall was softer than R888's.

Porsche uses these higher PSI levels mostly for better fuel mileage. Also on the street a higher psi will help protect the rims on these skinny 19" side wall tires. The higher inflation doesn't have anything to do with tire performance grip. However at stock alignment setting and running a street tire the higher pressure does help the front tires from rolling over on the sidewall. The stock alignment setting are designed for people that do not know anything about performance driving.
