Infrared pictures of my car after driving it.

I have had questions about my avatar. I thought I would share with you some of the pictures of my car after I took it for a drive using a FLIR Infrared camera. PCA actually posted one as the Photo of the Month. Click on the thumbnails below and check out the temperature ranges on the right and look at the hot spots...On the wheels the disks look cold but that is because they are shiny and reflect the ambient temperature. Also note how the hottest part is behind the rear wheel.

One of my guys at work asked me to approve buying one and I thought what the hell does he want one of those for...then he told me and he had real good reasons but then I thought...wow, what would my car look like after a run...APPROVED!

Interesting stuff. Thanks for posting! How long did it lapse between the time you parked the car and shot the rear view FLIR shot. The reason I ask is that the hottest section is the rear lid (intake). Heat rises and if the car sat a while that area would get hot, but in motion I would expect it to be cooler.

Yeah...Good Catch...by the time I took that picture from the rear, it was probably about 20 minutes or so.I should have done it while the engine is running...if I get the camera again...I will do that.
