I do not understand any of your logic regarding an '09 car.

I also do not understand your reasoning for introducing information that is over 2 years old (that's like me telling somebody, next year, not to buy a new 458 Italia, because they catch on fire).
You would buy a first gen Ferrari 458?
"Next year" is not an identical car.
Maybe we are discussing two different cars . When I say 09 it means model year 09 (the launch in the US) .
That article was dated 9/20/09 (less than 2 years ago BTW) making it relevant to that particular year's car which is what the Op asked. It came with LC1 and it took a federal court to upgrade to LC2 . Why shoild the Op buy a car with a replaced transmission? You think this info is irrelevant ? Do you think the customers who went out and bought the car only to be met with this level of customer service enjoy going to court to get it fixed ? Do you have any such example with a Porsche ? Isn't buying a high performance car fused with some confidence that the car is safe and reliable ?

From article
http://www.autospies.com/news/Fair-O...ipstick-48063/

" 1-All GTR owners that have LC1 used before and were afraid that the tranny did not have any warranty because of turning VDC off and doing a LC1 will have their warranties re-setted for 5yr or 60k miles if they upgrade to LC2. All LC1 will be forgotten and the tranny will be fully covered by NISSAN. After LC2 being installed, all LC2 with VDC on will be fully covered" "

Aaaaaannnd.... Done.

That ended, no?

The launches on my car (and many others) were done with LC2.

This is easily verifiable, and even if I had LC1 launches, I would have been covered. Done. How on earth is this still relevant to anybody?

(Or are you trying to tell me the 458's that were recalled, are still going to catch on fire?)

And if you're suggesting that Porsche has denied warranty claims based on people's use (construed as abuse), I'd say,"Unequivocally - yes."

(There is unbelievable evidence to support this) I'm not sure why you think that Porsche's feces is odorless. Please drop this outdated train of logic. It's no longer news. Everybody who needed to know, knows. It was addressed, and fixed - so much that it hasn't been an issue for 2 years, and continues to be a non-issue.

(Unless you still warn every person who wants to buy a 996 about rusted bolts, RMS issues, etc..., or anybody who wants to purchase an LFA that they should ask the previous owner how many launches were done, so they know how many are left, before they can't do any, then carry on).

The GTR may be quick but I'd have to get in and out of it in a dark garage.

I honestly think a better comparison for the GT-R is the 997TT. I think the GT-R is simply too much car for the C2S to make it a fair comparison.

Used 997TT prices are right in line with 2010-2011 GT-R prices, so choosing between the two would not be an easy choice.

As far as rear seats go, neither the GT-R's or 911's rear seats are what I would consider truly 'useful'. If you want real back seats, get a Panamera, M3, CTS-V or Audi.
