2 good cars or....
...one beater and one supercar. Which would you choose? I have an 05 C2S (good car) and a '98 Lexus GS400 daily driver. I am debating whether to keep the old Lexus, drive it into the ground and get a 'supercar' eg GT2 GT3RS etc. or keep my P car which I love and only has 15.5K on the clock, and get another 'good' car eg a 2011 M3, to be able to enjoy every day as a daily driver. Whadya think??

Tough question and much of it depends on your perception of driving in your specific region.
Can you enjoy the rare supercar on infrequent drives ?
Is your region congested, facing construction, and sprinkled with enough drivers who lack courtesy to place more demand on the daily driver ?

Hi. I live in a rural area. Great country roads. No traffic or congestion. Ultra short commute to work. Less than 20 miles per day total during the week. Need back seat for occasional wife/kid use in the daily driver. Its a question of whether to enjoy the driving experience every day or just on 'special' days and than really let loose with something awesome...

Probably a very good suggestion, except I'll keep the old Lexus, as its quite the tank. I like the concept of a GT3 more and more although I don't think you can order a new one any longer...

I agree with some here...
If you keep to 'good' cars, one could easily replace the other.
I'd like to get two cars that offer two different experiences...
For example - GT-R and GT3 (or Aston Martin Vantage/DB9). The GT-R is an outright performer, competent for the daily drive, the GT3 would be for track use, or the AM's would be for the occasional outing with the wife.
I found that if I got another car, on par with my DD (GT-R), the other car would just sit there and collect dust.

I think it is an interesting question for car enthusiasts. Would you rather have 8/10 for 5-7 d per week (M3) or 10/10 supercar for 2 d per week? One beer a night during the week...or all seven on Fri night??

In my case would I give up my '86 Carrera 3.2 (perfect gateway to classic 911 thrills), PDK equipped C4S (brilliant modern sports car) and the 2011 Cayenne (a family hauler which made me truly believe that Porsche could actually build a large 997.2) for say a turbo S and a Toureg ???? The cost of the first three would equal the last two. But I don't know if I would do it. I'm thinking no.

I have this vibe that I am going to have to start putting some money into the Lexus. I do like the fact of having a car you don't have to worry about in parking lots etc. And hey as a Lexus I am still on the original brake pads-12 yrs later!

i would LOVE to have a GT3RS - or any of the porsche "supers", really - but it seems to me if one has concerns about juggling financially to afford it, a different route might be considered: modify the hell out of the 05 C2S.
there are plenty of aftermarkets that can make that car faster and a lot tighter for a lot less $ than a GT3RS. and you could still afford a nice 2nd car.
please dont hate, i'm not dissing anything here - i would own every porsche model made if i could. simply offering my experience, as i am in the "cant afford a super, so i am slowly modifying a C2S" boat.
