Need Feedback on Latest Radar/Laser Defense - 'Passport 9500ci' vs K40's 'RL360'!
I am trying to choose between these two 'latest' Radar & Laser Protection systems for my '07 997.1: A) K40 Electronics' just released 'RL360'; or B) Escort's 'Passport 9500ci'. I would be interested in feedback (positive and/or negative) from those who have actually installed one of these 'latest' systems in their vehicles, but NOT the earlier versions of K40's or any previous Escort radar/laser systems, which are less sophisticated & offer less protection.

For the past 15+ years, I have relied on Valentine One's (I have two sets!). However, it is my understanding (at least in California) that Laser is becoming the weapon of choice for both state and local law enforcement. So for the first time, I am considering installing a Laser Protection, or Laser Defense, system hardwired to my car. A local auto stereo shop I know well offers professional installations of the latest K40 'RL360', as well as of the existing 'Passport 9500ci'. Price for the complete installation is around $2,500 for the K40 'RL360' and perhaps slightly less for the Passport 9500ci. Both installations include radar detector & laser defusers, interior displays, etc, plus labor. Yes, it is pricey...but so are speeding tickets and hikes on your insurance rates.
I also understand that there is a new law in California which prohibits having a device with suction cups on the windshield (e.g. my existing Valentine One) which might obstruct vision. This could result in being stopped, warned or ticketed. Thanks in advance for your feedback on the desirability of one or the other system, especially in regards to Laser Protection/Defense. z356

my 2cents
keep ur V1.. and if u r seriously concerned with lasers, get the Laser Interceptor jammers, best in the market. (sometimes, there are group buys for this)
i have 9500ci that works great with Ka but i question its capability vs lasers..

I had my dealer install the Passport 7 months ago and could not be more pleased. So far it has warned more than 3 times of laser use, especially when I travel from Ga. to Sc. where they love to ticket out of state drivers. Good Luck.

Re: Foreplay's "Dude do your research both the K40 RL360 and the Passport are great systems the only difference between then is this." Dude, I am! I have 'Search' it in the forums and 'Google' it all in the internet. And it gets more confusing with the more I read. The worse part is the 'expert' opinions of people with limited posting history in each of the forums, which suspiciously appeared out of nowhere to chime in but have neither systems in their cars. That is why I am trying to hear from actual members that have installed one or the other product in their vehicle. But 'Foreplay', thanks for your 'good' advice in any case. z356
