Service your car in 27 days popped up on the display...

today on my 06 C2S and i've never seen that before...

The car has 55k K on it and I changed the oil etc at about 43k with synthetic of course. Seems to be running a little harsher in the cold weather I noticed a few days ago to be honest, so the pop up was more of a validation really that I know my car. The idle is bouncin up and down by a rpm or two every ten or fifteen seconds here and there...nothing really that noticeable but I did.

Either way, the question is...2 part. 1, does the car have an internal clock of some sort to know when it needs service per say or does it just know it needs oil? I tested it today and its in need of a litre (shows at the bottom of the tester range)

2nd'ly is this oil change going to rid the 'service the car message'?

Isn't there some sort of 60k overall service that needs to be done? The reason i'm aksing is that I'm actually considering a trade for another ride in a couple days and I dont want to hand it over with the 'error' yet dont want to spend xxxx number of coins on something i'm giving away to a dealer....ya knowww?

thanks for your input gentlemen.

The 997.2 has regular service interval reminders. I cannot speak for the 997.1 but I would be surprised if it differed.

The real question is, I assume you are a new'ish owner and this is just the first time you've seen it? If you've had it since birth then it would be odd.

Mine reminds me every 10,000 miles.

And no, you cannot reset it yourself. Dealership!
