Agency Power has furthered their cold air intake kit for the Porsche 997.2 Carrera with a fully enclosed carbon fiber airbox to eliminate any hot engine heat that may get sucked into the air filters. The carbon fiber air box is designed to mate up with the lower aluminum tray. It creates a full seal which leave the K&N air filters exposed only to the ram air induction from the air ducts of the decklid.
The hand laid carbon fiber air box features a glossy coat and an Agency Power aluminum badge. This intake box is great for those wanting to get the most volume of cold air into their intake system without worrying about heat soak from a hot engine.
Our cold air intake kit is for the Porsche Carrera and Carrera S DFI car from 09 and up.
It is made from 6061 aluminum and features a CNC machined Mass Air Flow sensor mount. It features a Y design which places a K&N cone filter under each of the rear wing air duct tubes to give you a true ram air design while under driving conditions. The aluminum is extremely lightweight weight and does not conduct heat such as stainless steel. Each Y intake pipe is powdercoated to further insulate it from engine heat. Inside the intake tube at the Y split is a deflector which forces the airflow to go up from each side directly into the throttlebody without creating any additional turbulence.
The intake is a direct OEM replacement featuring a 3.5 inch diameter neck with AP silicone coupler to attach to the throttlebody. The remainder of the intake tube is all 3 inch and TIG welded. The intake sits in the engine bay with an aluminum tray keeping the intake separated from the engine. This tray is powdercoated black for a stealthy appearance.
As tested on our Mustang Dyno, our subject car was a 2009 PDK 997.2 Carrera running on 91 octane in an ambient temperature of 95F. The car baselined at 291rwhp and 249ft/lbs of torque. After the intake was installed, it dynoed at 305rwhp and 258ft/lbs of torque for a gain of 14rwhp and 9ft/lbs of torque. The Mustang dyno has a 15% drivetrain loss, so the crank horsepower gain is 16bhp. As you can see in the dyno graph, horsepower and torque is gained throughout the entire curve, not just peak.
The intake pipe is available in several different colors to enhance your engine bay style. This cold air intake works with all 2009+ DFI Porsche 997.2 Carrera and Carrera S cars.
