always keep oil level as manual shows - not all bar lit but all except one at very top. it is actually pretty important.

OK - so I'm an old 964 guy and knew that process well. I've had this car for one year, but much of this is new info for me, particularly hot/cold.

I was under the impression that the cold measurement was what was more accurate - just based on the fact that you can get an instant reading. When I forget to measure cold, then I need to wait 5 mins to get a reading, while the engine is hot. My assumption was that it would be working on some algorithm to estimate the level when it's hot, and that it might be less accurate...
But that is all based on no knowledge and assumptions...
