997.1 C2S or 997.2 C2?

997.1 C2S or 997.2 C2?
So I've wanted a 911 for a better part of twenty years and the wife has given the green light.
I'm currently looking at two 997s.
2008 C2S with 17k
672 - Navigation Module for PCM
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
692 - Remote CD Changer (6 Disc)
XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
342 - Heated Front Seats
P15 - Power Seat Package
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
or
2009 C2 with 16k
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
686 - XM Radio
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
672 - Navigation Module for PCM
P15 - Pwr Comfort Seats w/Driver Mem
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
619 - Bluetooth Phone Interface
The 2008 is going for 67k and the 2009 is 66k and both are sliver/black my choice.
I'm not really sure which way to go. I starting out looking only C2S but now the 997.2 C2 seems close to the 997.1 C2S. In my 60-65k range I can go either way.
I don't race at a track, but I do certain enjoy driving aggressively when I can. (CT roads are awful)
Am I crazy for wanting the extra 1.5 years in warranty for the 09? Will I get killed (even more) on resale with owning a non-S?
Thanks,
Greg

That 08 C2S price is what I paid for mine in Sept (with only 6K miles). My car cost considerably more when new than the one you're looking at. Personally I'd rather have the S vs. the 09 non-S. But you're comparing red apples to green apples between the variant (S vs. non) and the way they are equipped. I love Sport Chrono. Plus you can have the exact same power as a .2 C2S just by DIY installing an IPD plenum ($900).

While direct injection is tempting, and I love the tail lights of the .2, the S stands for "so fat, balding, middle aged man, go and have your midlife crisis somewhere else."

I saw an 09 S a few days ago on Autotrader or Cars.com for $69K. I think it was one of the green cars. I'm not a fan of that color.
Back to your original question. I think I'd go with the 09. It has the latest engine and the nav is much better in my opinion. If you later decide you want sport chrono you can have it added by your dealer which is what I did with my car. However, there are those that don't like sport chrono on a manual transmission car.
I'd try to get a bit of extra seat time in both before making a decision. It's not like you are buying a beater car.
Good luck with purchase.

If you ever have doubts .. go trade in your car and see what they offer .
The dealership can place ask prices anywhere they wish .. but it's up to the buyer if he wants to pay the huge markup gap.
Alan C is correct with the auto trader listing at 69K but that car is not CPO and the color is black .. not green .

FYI.
This car was purchased by a 6speed member from a P dealer here in D/FW with just a few thousand miles on it. He sold it after having the car for only a short time/business oppurtunity I think.
They have had it in inventory for a good while now so an offer w/i reason could get you what you may really want. CPO/non CPO... that is your call.

Most of the people who listened to my suggestions got better prices and a nice car . There is no reason why a 2008 car ought to be in the 60's . I can think of forum members who bought a new 08 car in 08 in the 60's .

But your constantly cheapen everybody's cars on this forum. Except if I recall correctly yours when you were thinking about a GT3.
Just because you find an example or two doesn't mean thats the general trend.
But like I said I'll just drop it now.
