Boosters: rear seat belt extenders?

I successfully installed Recaro booster seats in the back and they fit beautifully. First I removed the bottom cushion (easy - was velcroed in as other posters informed me) and used a Torx screw-driver to remove the main back cushion. I left the smaller back cushion in place because it didn't hinder the booster at all and looks better as is.

The Recaros fit snuggly and don't really move at all. I'll post pics as soon as I can take them. They're very classy looking seats and look like they were made for the 997. The kids love them and say they're very comfortable.

My one issue is the seatbelt latch is a little tight to get to. I can fasten the seatbelts, but it takes some effort. I was wondering if anyone knows of an extender? I'm imagining a short double latch system (male and female) but that might not exist, so is there perhaps a short length of webbing with eyeholes on either end to extend the latch?

Thanks.

Great input!. With the extenders, it would be easier for the my kids to buckle and unbuckle themselves - I won't have to stoop in to do this. Thanks

I tried one of those with my recaro vivo, but with the angle of the seatbelt plug, the extender didn't allow the seatbelt to fit properly through the slot and held the belt slightly away from my daughter's lap which would possibly allow them to slide under the belt in an accident.

Thanks for the warning. I'll see if there's a way to make this safe and convenient.

The seatbelt extenders arrived on Friday and they work beautifully! No issues with the lap belt not fitting correctly. It slips into the slot as designed. My kids are 7 and 5 and they love the cool Recaros and now with the belt extenders it's a breeze to get them in and out.

Pics tomorrow.

Great, can't wait to see the pics. You mentioned you removed the main seat backs, but still have the back cushion? My daughter is 3.5 yrs old and starting to out grow her Britax Marathon and would like to get her into a Recaro booster. Did you go with the Recaro Vivo?

Hey,

Where did you get the seat belt extension? and what model is the Recaro car seat?
